INDY INDIE BOOK CRAWL

The 2024 Indy Indie Book Crawl was Indianapolis’ first independent bookstore book crawl, created by Jake Budler of Tomorrow Bookstore . From March 21 - March 24, Hoosiers were invited to collect stamps from 23 local bookstores for a chance to win a range of prizes, courtesy of the participating shops.

For this inaugural event, I worked with Jake to develop a simple, wiggly brand identity, bookmark passports (inspired by library book checkout cards), and other eye-catching brand elements that represent Indy’s vibrant local book scene.

After the 4-day event, Indy Indie Book Crawl received over 2,000 passport submissions. Several stores reported record-setting sales and attendance (10k+ total store visits). All during a time of year that is usually slow for most local sellers.
